South moves North for Canadian farm marketers
Young’uns and guests of all ages visit the Yee Haw Adventure Farm looking fer vittles, gold, punkins and fun. And Ma and Billy Bob Walker don’t disappoint. The Walkers, also known as Florence and Todd, decided to open give their entertainment farm a “hillbilly” theme – based on one of Florence’s favorite shows, “The Beverly Hillbillies.”

Growers meet, marry over organic produce
For Richard de Wilde and Linda Halley, organic farming is more than a way of life – it’s what brought them together. But before their story together began, each had their own story to live. De Wilde had farmed organically outside of St. Paul, Minn., for 30 years. He had always farmed his fresh market vegetable organically. Halley started farming fresh market vegetable about 13 years ago in southern Wisconsin.

Vegetable growers lobby Washington
Two Michigan vegetable growers from Oceana and Newaygo counties were part of a delegation that ventured to the nation’s capital in February to lobby lawmakers. At issue was research funding targeting a plant disease poised to wreak havoc for the state’s vegetable growers.
